The Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) featured its partnership with Adtalem, which helps prepare future nurses with hands-on experience and a digital badge.
On Aug. 23, Periop Today, a publication of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN), highlighted a partnership between AORN and Adtalem Global Education. The partnership exposes Bachelor of Science in Nursing students at Adtalem’s Chamberlain University to the role of nurses in operating rooms.
Since launching in January 2022, more than 1,100 students have completed the didactic portion of the course with 86% of survey respondents sharing that the program provided adequate time to learn the roles and responsibilities of the perioperative nurse in the clinical settings. In addition to evidence-based, hands-on experiences, the Intro to Perioperative Nursing course offers a digital badge they can use in their job search.
AORN represents the interests of more than 200,000 perioperative nurses by providing evidence-based research, education, standards, and practice resources.
