Adtalem Welcomes DEI Leader

Katrina Jackson joins as vice president to continue building Adtalem’s diverse talent pipeline and develop best-in-class diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. 

Adtalem Global Education welcomes Katrina Jackson as vice president of diversity, equity, and inclusion and talent management. She brings more than 15 years of experience to this new position. Jackson will drive forward Adtalem’s culture of DEI through workplace practices and talent management. 

“At Adtalem, diversity, equity, and inclusion are integral to our mission and to advancing health equity,” says Cheryl James, senior vice president and chief human resources officer. “We recognize that our ability to expand access to education and to create a diverse healthcare workforce starts with a culture of inclusivity within our organization.”

Most recently, Jackson served as the first global head of diversity, equity and inclusion for Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. There she developed and executed a multiyear DEI roadmap and oversaw the integration of DEI functions into business operations, people processes, and company culture for over 15,000 global employees. 

Jackson has served on numerous boards including Roseland Community Hospital, the Glass Slipper Project, Rush University Medical Center, and the Chicago State University Foundation. She is a 2018 Chicago Urban League Impact Fellow and a 2019 recipient of Chicago Scholars’ 35 Under 35 Award.

Jackson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Spelman College and a Master of Arts from The Chicago School in Industrial-Organizational Psychology.
