Nation's largest healthcare educator advances innovation while delivering strong financial performance and expanding access to healthcare careers.
Healthcare education is at an inflection point. With demand for qualified clinicians at an all-time high and technology reshaping patient care delivery, the opportunity to make a lasting impact has never been greater.
Adtalem Global Education, the nation’s largest healthcare educator, is seizing that opportunity. The company just reported its ninth consecutive quarter of year-over-year enrollment growth, up eight percent year-over-year, while pioneering AI-powered learning partnerships that are already delivering results in classrooms.
The momentum reflects a clear strategy: combine operational discipline with forward-thinking innovation to prepare students for technology-enabled careers while expanding access to healthcare education at an unprecedented scale.
“This performance demonstrates the power of our Growth with Purpose strategy and the operational excellence we've embedded across the enterprise,” says Steve Beard, Adtalem’s chairman and CEO. “As the largest provider of healthcare-focused education in the country, we are well-positioned to play a vital role as essential talent infrastructure. That opportunity has never been clearer or more compelling.”
Strong Financial Performance Creates Opportunity
Adtalem's first quarter fiscal 2026 results demonstrate how operational excellence fuels the ability to invest in innovation while increasing profitability:
- Total student enrollment reached 97,359, up 8% year-over-year
- Revenue hit $462.3 million, up 10.8% year-over-year
- Adjusted EPS of $1.75, up 35.7% year-over-year
The company's strong financial position enabled it to repurchase $8 million in shares during the first quarter, and with net leverage at 0.6x as of Sept. 30, 2025, Adtalem has the flexibility to continue investing strategically.
Leading Healthcare's AI Transformation
Adtalem isn't waiting to integrate artificial intelligence into healthcare education—the company is building comprehensive AI readiness across its institutions through strategic partnerships.
The Google Cloud partnership exemplifies this approach. Adtalem will be integrating AI credentials throughout the educational experience at all five institutions, beginning in 2026. Students will complete foundational AI courses plus specialized tracks tailored to their healthcare pathways—nursing, medicine, behavioral health, and allied health professions.
This strategy addresses a critical gap: healthcare systems have invested billions in AI technology, but a recent survey shows most physicians feel unprepared to utilize these tools effectively. Adtalem is ensuring its graduates arrive ready to unlock that technology's full potential.
Opening New Pathways to Healthcare Careers
Adtalem is expanding access through partnerships that create opportunities for students at every career stage:
Walden University achieved its record total enrollment with more than 52,000 students, its ninth consecutive quarter of growth. This quarter, Walden streamlined its doctorate programs with simplified pricing, integrating the Believe & Achieve Scholarship® to help make advanced degrees more affordable and accessible for working professionals.
Chamberlain University achieved its eleventh straight quarter of total enrollment growth and continues expanding access through its fast-growing pre-licensure BSN program, offered both on-campus and online across 43 states and D.C.
Adtalem's Medical and Veterinary segment posted its third consecutive enrollment cycle of growth. Ross University School of Medicine had its largest September new student start in the last five years, demonstrating strong momentum in medical education.
New partnerships are expanding opportunities as well. American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine launched a direct admittance partnership with the University of Wolverhampton in the U.K. and Ross University School of Medicine’s Advanced Medical Preparation (AMP) India program creates new pathways to medical education. Adtalem’s medical schools are also collaborating with ScribeAmerica to offer the MedPath program, designed specifically for existing frontline healthcare workers to advance into medical school.
Confident Outlook Reflects Momentum and Market Opportunity
The company's strong performance and strategic positioning are reflected in its fiscal year 2026 outlook. Adtalem maintains guidance, with revenue expected in the range of $1,900 million to $1,940 million, representing approximately 6% to 8.5% growth year-over-year.
Bob Phelan, chief financial officer, shared, "We started the fiscal year with financial strength, in line with our expectations, as we continue to sustain our momentum. Our top priority remains to reinvest into our institutions and deliver positive student outcomes through our financial strength and dynamic capital allocation approach."
With proven operational excellence, forward-thinking partnerships and the financial strength to scale its impact, Adtalem is helping solve healthcare workforce challenges while creating exceptional career opportunities for students across the country.
Adtalem will host its 2026 Investor Day on Feb. 24, 2026.
