President, DeVry University James Bartholomew
James Bartholomew was appointed President of DeVry University in 2017.
He joined DeVry in 2014 as its Chief Operations Officer (COO). As COO, he supported and led the team that is responsible for strategy, planning and execution of Recruitment, Financial and Academic Advising, Campus and Online Experience, Career Services, Real Estate, infrastructure, Big Data and training. In his role he had oversight and P&L responsibility for 59 locations across the US and the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of over 27,000 students.
Prior to joining DeVry, James served as President for Le Cordon Bleu NA and held a variety of progressive leadership roles including Campus President, Regional Vice President, and Vice President of Operations at Universal Technical Institute. Prior to entering higher education Bartholomew owned and managed a logistics start up and held various general management and operation leadership roles with global companies Ciba Specialty Chemicals and Sara Lee Corporation.
Bartholomew holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina and a Masters of Business Administration from Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
