Fernando Lau was appointed senior vice president, chief marketing officer for Adtalem Global Education in 2016, with responsibility for leading marketing initiatives, building brand reputation and improving the student experience.
Lau joined Adtalem Educacional do Brasil in 2010 as vice president of marketing and admissions. During his tenure, he also held roles within student and career services, business-to-business and communications, where he was responsible for increasing leads through institutional marketing, growing revenue through the admissions process and improving student satisfaction and persistence.
Before joining Adtalem, Lau led the trade marketing departments of Motorola and Nokia in Brazil. In these roles, he was responsible for implementing the sales strategy. Before that, Lau served as trade marketing manager for dressings, which included the Hellmann’s brand, for Unilever Brazil.
Lau holds an MBA from Fundação Dom Cabral and a bachelor’s degree in marketing, economics and finance from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (EAESP-FGV). He also holds a postgraduate certificate in marketing from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (EAESP-FGV).
